Nattokinase

Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from fermented soybeans (natto). Reputable supplements are typically standardized and labeled in “FU” units (not just mg), as this measures enzymatic activity. Quality varies significantly – independent testing shows that some products deliver far less (or occasionally more) activity than is claimed on the label.

Look for third-party testing for potency (actual FU activity), purity and contaminants (heavy metals, microbes). Use a patented or well-characterized strain, such as NSK-SD (a common, high-quality nattokinase extract). Look for transparent labeling with exact FU per serving (common doses 2,000-4,000 doses per capsule)

General caution: Supplements are not FDA-approved to treat or prevent disease. Evidence for nattokinase is promising but still emerging (mostly smaller studies or observational data for plaque/circulation support). It’s not a substitute for medical care, lifestyle changes, or prescribed treatments.
